How was it done? |
我在計劃初期只處理新約。我對「通用希臘文」文法只有初步認識，所以我未敢說我懂希臘文。事實上，要精通任何一種語文的詞彙也是很困難。即使我的母語是中文，我也未敢說我精通文言；我只敢說我精通粵語詞彙和文法。
Initially, I would deal with the New Testament only. I only know very little about Koine Greek grammar so I would not claim that I know the language. It is hard to become proficient in the vocabulary of any language. Even though my mother tongue is Chinese, I dare not say I am proficient in classical Chinese. I would only claim that I am proficient in Cantonese vocabulary and grammar. 我按以下流程工作： I describe my workflow below: |

The first step |
我先閱讀希臘文/英文對照的新約聖經。我用的對照聖經，希臘文版本是聯合聖經公會出版的希臘文新約，第四版(UBS4)，1993年 [ISBN: 3438051109]及德國聖經公會出版的Nestle-Aland希臘文新約，第二十七版(NA27) [ISBN: 3438051001]。這不是最新版本；最新的是 UBS5 和 NA28，但暫時我仍在用舊版。
I first read a Greek/English Interlinear New Testament. The Greek text used in my interlinear Bible is The Greek New Testament, 4th revised edition (UBS4), United Bible Societies (1993) [ISBN: 3438051109] 及 Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece, 27th edition (NA27) Stuttgart: Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft [ISBN: 3438051001]. They are not the latest editions, which are UBS5 and NA28, but I am still using the older edition. 同時我參考葉福成牧師的《文法聖經》，此參考書解釋每句經文的文法。 At the same time, I refer to Rev. Victor Yap, 文法聖經, a reference book that explains the grammar of every verse. 我不期望自己有能力可以學懂和記得很多希臘詞彙，所以唯有依賴工具書。也許這就是整個計劃最弱的一環。 I do not expect that I could ever learn and memorise a wide Greek vocabulary. I would just rely on reference books. This is probably the weakest link in the whole project. |

The second step |
閱讀《官話和合譯本》(1919)，如內容與希臘文/英文對照新約聖經不符，便會在我腦袋中修改中文的經文。我選擇1919年版本，只因為版權已屆滿。當然我不能參考任何版權尚未屆滿的中文聖經。
I read The Chinese Union Version (1919). I would mentally revise the verses if they conflict with those in the interlinear New Testament. I choose the 1919 version simply because its copyright has lapsed. I shall not refer to any copyrighted Chinese version of the Bible. |

把我自己腦袋中修改過的官話經文轉為粵語白話文。
I turn the Mandarin verses mentally revised by me into written Yue. |

閱讀英文版The New English Translation (NET Bible)的註腳，看看要不要修改我的初稿。
I refer to the footnotes of The New English Translation (NET Bible) and revise my first draft, if necessary. |

第五步
The fifth step |
把修改後的草稿與希臘文/英文對照新約聖經比照，然後訂稿。
I compare my revised draft with the interlinear New Testament to prepare the final version. |
